Fourth meeting between the two sides at the Euros
The Netherlands and France will face off in their fourth meeting at the Euros when they clash in the semi-finals of the 2024 tournament. France prevailed on penalties in the quarter-finals in 2020, but the Netherlands will be looking to get their revenge and reach the final for the first time since 1988.
Netherlands win 2-1 against Iceland
The Netherlands had to do it the hard way to win 2-1 against Iceland in their opening match of Euro 2024, but they thoroughly deserved the victory. Even when chasing the game, they offered more than their opponents and created several chances to score. Substitute Wout Weghorst swept in a late winner two minutes after coming on, to secure all three points for the Dutch.
