Salah could be out of Egypt's World Cup squad with injury

Salah could miss World Cup with injury

Mohamed Salah could miss the World Cup after suffering an ankle injury in Liverpool's win over Brighton on Saturday. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has confirmed that Salah has been ruled out of the team's upcoming friendlies against Niger and Tunisia, and will undergo further tests to determine the extent of the injury.

Salah is one of Egypt's most important players, and his absence would be a major blow to the team's hopes of success at the World Cup. Egypt are due to face Uruguay, Russia and Saudi Arabia in Group A, and will be hoping to reach the knockout stages for the first time since 1990.

Salah has been in excellent form for Liverpool this season, scoring 10 goals in 13 Premier League appearances. He is also the club's leading scorer in the Champions League, with two goals in three games.

The EFA has not yet put a timeframe on Salah's injury, but it is thought that he could be out for several weeks. This would rule him out of Egypt's friendlies against Niger and Tunisia, and would put his participation in the World Cup in doubt.

Egypt's World Cup campaign begins on June 15 against Uruguay. If Salah is fit enough to play, he will be one of the key players for the Pharaohs. However, if he is ruled out, it will be a major blow to the team's hopes of success.
