Suns extend winning streak to five games, improve to 11-2 over last 13 games

PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns (41-19) extended their winning streak to five games on Wednesday night with a hard-fought 113-111 overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves (32-28) at Footprint Center.

The Suns led by as many as 13 points in the third quarter, but the Timberwolves battled back to take the lead late in the fourth quarter. The Timberwolves had a chance to win the game in regulation, but Anthony Edwards' potential game-winning three-pointer bounced off the rim with seconds remaining.

In overtime, the Suns took control of the game and never trailed. Devin Booker led the way for the Suns with 30 points, while Chris Paul added 25 points and 11 assists. Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 28 points and 10 rebounds.

The Suns' win was their 11th in their last 13 games. They are now just 1.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets (42-18) for the top spot in the Western Conference.
